Lexington, Mass. – October 23, 2018 – FirstFuel Software, the global leader in business customer engagement for the energy industry, today announced that its Vice President of Energy Markets, Austin Whitman, will deliver the national keynote address at the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance’s 8th Annual PA Energy Efficiency Conference on Thursday, October 25 in Harrisburg, Penn. Whitman will address an audience of utility professionals, policy experts, energy efficiency consultants, service providers and implementation specialists, to explore how to use technology to overcome key barriers to energy efficiency – and ultimately drive intelligent energy consumption at scale.
“Each year, commercial buildings in the U.S. spend nearly $200 billion on heat, light and power,” said Whitman. “Of that $200 billion, $62 billion is spent on wasted energy. There is tremendous savings that can be achieved through energy efficiency – for businesses, for individuals and for the economy at large. And let’s not forget the critical benefit of reduced carbon dioxide emissions.”
Whitman will kick off the conference by explaining how information derived from sophisticated technologies can be used to fuel more intelligent energy decisions. He will also highlight how the energy industry in the future could benefit from tech-enabled marketplaces that harness positive social influence to create new possibilities for the efficient use of energy.
“At FirstFuel, we’ve seen firsthand how data can provide the insights needed to make more informed energy decisions,” Whitman continued. “Energy efficiency is doing well – we just need more of it. The next step is to identify more ways to inspire consumers to act.”
The PA Energy Efficiency Conference is hosted annually. The two-day event will feature forward-looking sessions on cutting-edge technological, programming and policy solutions for energy efficiency. For more information, visit www.paeeconference.org
