For Utilities
FirstFuel is focused on providing a game-changing energy efficiency platform for utilities. We give utilities "behind the meter" intelligence about buildings, without ever going behind the meter.
Scalable approach and mass customer engagement for your commercial customers
- Scalable Approach
FirstFuel has the speed and scale to be deployed over portfolios of hundreds or thousands of buildings quickly and cost-effectively. For each building, we provide deep insights, benchmarks, recommendations and M&V for your customers that are based on actual energy consumption data. All of our work is completed remotely and we require no work from you or your customer before we deliver value – no devices to install, and no invasive onsite building walk-throughs.
- Mass Customer Engagement
Our web-based platform is both an information source as well as a rich interactive medium that allows building owners and managers to work with their utilities, generate leads, and monitor the impact of their actions over time. In addition FirstFuel allows utility customers to network with their peers and share tips and success stories via an online community forum.
Utilities working with FirstFuel have already increased customer interactions, reduced sales cycles for their efficiency programs, and reached new customers.
Delivered operational savings and new retrofit leads
With FirstFuel, utilities can offer state-of-the-art energy analytics software to all of their commercial building customers with a zero-touch adoption model. There is no need for onsite visits or device installations.
- Operational Savings
Operational savings have the highest untapped potential of any category of energy savings actions. Traditional methods of identifying energy efficiency opportunities focus on building hardware and retrofits, and are unable to identify issues like poor equipment scheduling, improper temperature setpoints and malfunctioning building controls. FirstFuel quickly identifies these types of operational issues and estimates the sizable savings they provide, in addition to providing detailed recommendations on how they can be implemented by the building managers themselves at little to no cost.
For utilities to get the most from operational savings, it is not enough to create change on the customer site. To make these savings meaningful, you also need a way to record these changes, measure their impact and persistence, and provide proof to regulators in order to apply these savings to your efficiency targets. FirstFuel’s Monitoring and Verification capabilities allow utilities to do just that, providing an automated way of capturing actions in each building and measuring the actual savings impact of each one over time. - Retrofit leads
FirstFuel’s Rapid Building Assessments provide qualified leads to utility sales teams for retrofit opportunities, based on the specific category of retrofit. The retrofit recommendations on the RBA Portal also allow customers to proactively contact their account representative with a particular opportunity or initiate the process for a retrofit incentive program application.
Once a retrofit has begun, FirstFuel captures the action and measures its impact, helping utilities and their customers verify the savings and evaluate their investments.
Tailored to the way utilities interact with customers
FirstFuel wants utilities to create successful relationships with their customers. Thus our portal is designed as a “white label” product, to be customized for your programs and customer approach and offered by you, the utility, to your customers.
We work to customize a delivery model that works for you, for example:
- Through your sales team Creating immediate customer engagement, faster sales cycles and greater interaction and energy savings.
- Directly to the customer En masse, helping utilities to create meaningful “touch” with customers that the sales team is stretched to thin to reach.
- With strategic accounts Helping win customers, identify opportunities and create savings in the largest accounts that make up the largest blocks of energy consumption.
