How It Works
Remote. Comprehensive. Automated. The FirstFuel Rapid Building Assessment platform uses building consumption data from the utility to produce complete building analysis and energy savings.
We start with just two pieces of information about each building
- One year of hourly electric consumption data from the utility
- Building address
That’s it. If you have more – such as gas data, building information, etc – we’ll use it, but we can work without them or incorporate them later
FirstFuel’s deep analytics take care of the rest
From the address, we get two other critical inputs: Hourly local weather data and GIS building data.
After that, our patent-pending analytical engine takes over, disaggregating the 24 x 365 data points into weather and occupancy related loads, end-use consumption and daily usage profiles. Intelligence is extracted from what was once a mass of data to reveal how efficiently energy is being used in each building at an end use level.
The result: Comprehensive, actionable insights and energy savings
The Remote Building Assessment, delivered through our interactive online portal, creates intelligence and action from the first time it is accessed.
- Benchmark building end-use energy performance
- Customized operational and retrofit recommendations
- Monitoring and Verification of savings from actions over time
Technical Validation
The question we’re always asked about our Remote Building Assessment is: Does it work?
The answer: Yes.
We’ve successfully field tested our ability to delivery high quality, insightful information to utilities and building owners under multiple conditions. In addition to technical trials with the groups listed below, we’ve also validated our solution through successful pilots with utility customers.
Of course the best way to prove the real technical merit of the FirstFuel solution is to put it in front of building owners and technical specialists who know the buildings. In every single building that we’ve analyzed, we’ve won over everyone who knows the building with our intelligence, insights and actionable recommendations for saving energy.
